Research interests:
My work concerns the propagation of excess in digital space (accounts, communities, saving infrastructures, data) and the specter of excess in death and bereavement. Specifically, how are individuals contending with emergent forms of excess without existing frameworks, customs, and strategies for doing so. My current research engages the increasingly prominent role of the ‘death cleaner’ within the industry and care space of death and dying—an actor facing the reality of digital items or ‘e-ephemera’ that is beginning/continuing to weigh heavily on the labor of ‘stuff management,’ particularly in end-of-life contexts.
