Cody Bock

Pronouns: she/her

Research interests:

I’m an artist, poet, and researcher, with a keen interest in experiences related stasis and mobility. I come from a Development Studies background, where I studied the use of media by European governments to steer the migration intentions of West Africans. At NSSR, I’m turning to anthropology to more deeply engage with the experiences of uncertainty and risk that surround (im)mobility. In my day job, I’m an applied researcher in the international development and humanitarian field, working to improve international policies and programs through qualitative narratives from those at their ‘receiving’ end. In my spare time, I am a visual artist and creative writer—skills I hope to bring into my work as an anthropologist. Please reach out to chat or collaborate!
