Varshini Balaji

Pronouns: she/her

Research interests:

Growing up in six countries, Varshini has always been interested in questions of culture, identity, and differences. During her time as an undergraduate, her interest in making meaning of identities was bolstered when she started her research work on anti-racist pedagogies and decolonization in writing centers and academia (at large). This work contributed to her broader interests in themes of violence, care, and decolonization. At the New School, Varshini will also be participating as a Fellow in the Impact Entrepreneurship Fellowship. Varshini obtained her BA in Anthropology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and currently works at the intersection of anthropology, human centered design, equity, and organizational culture.
