Guest Lecture with Javier Morillo-Alicea: Outside The Academy with an Anthropology Education

Date:
April 20, 2022
6:00 pm

We would like to invite you to join us for a conversation with Javier Morillo-Alicea, a labor union organizer and formerly a historian and anthropologist who received his B.A. at Yale before pursuing a degree in the joint Anthropology and History Ph.D. program at the University of Michigan, about the experience of deciding to leave the academy and how an anthropology education has informed his non-academic work. This will be a wonderful opportunity to discuss the particular qualities an anthropological attention draws out in other fields and what it helps to make possible and visible in situations outside of institutional scholarship.
