Research interests:

My current project explores the relationship between the (collective) experience of aging and the infrastructures of American urbanism. I work principally with elderly long-term residents in gentrified neighborhoods of New York and Los Angeles to ask about the possibilities for “aging in place” and the ethical demands of those possibilities. Aging in place, crucially, is to me not an abstract gerontological concept but an always-unique configuration of bodies, infrastructures, and meanings.
