Leila Lin is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology. She is interested in how digital infrastructure shapes healthcare and insurance practices. Currently Leila is studying the development of group bidding and procurement policies and platforms designed to control pharmaceutical pricing as a window into understanding China’s efforts to build a viable universal healthcare system. Leila has a MA in Anthropology from NSSR and a BA in East Asian Studies from Barnard College. Prior to graduate school, Leila worked as a documentary media producer; she continues to consult on independent documentaries.
