Lea Coffineau

Born in Montreal and raised between France and Quebec, Lea Coffineau starts her professional career as a stage performer before becoming a cultural journalist. After working in refugee camps in Paris, Calais and Dunkirk, she chooses to go back to school and study Sociology. She graduates with a B.A. from the Université de Strasbourg in 2019. As a graduate student in the Anthropology Department of the New School for Social Research, she focuses on a research addressing the relationship of France with its former African colonies and how it influences French immigration policies as well as the integration of immigrants into French society. Lea pursues her deep interest in documentary making, benefiting from the wide resources provided by The New School.
